Through the resolution No. 009 of the 1st of February of the year 2000, of the Board of the Faculty of Engineering at the Universidad del Valle approved a new academic- administrative structure for the Faculty, denominated School of Engineering of Systems and Computation – SECS.
The mission of this unit is to contribute to a sustainable development of the country which is integral, competitive and globally viewed in the field of Systems Engineering and the Science of Compute, taking as fundamental references of their academic actions, the excellence in teaching, the investigation and the extension.
The SECS sees itself as an academic authority en its field at a regional, national and international level. Additionally, EISC will have an excellent positioning in the region and in the country due to quality of its graduates, of their investigations and their regional and national impact in the discipline.
Nowadays the SECS offers four academic programs of high quality and projection, which range from the technological level to the doctoral level: Technology in Systems of Information, Systems Engineering and Masters and Doctorates with emphasis in Engineering of Systems and Computation.

Un vistazo a la historia de la EISC
Mediante la resolución No. 009 del 1 de febrero de 2000, del Consejo de la Facultad de Ingeniería de la Universidad del Valle aprueba una nueva estructura académico-administrativa para la Facultad, denominada Escuela de Ingeniería de Sistemas y Computación - EISC.
La misión de esta unidad es la de contribuir a un desarrollo sostenible del país que sea integral, competitivo y con visión global en el campo de la Ingeniería de Sistemas y de la Ciencia de la Computación, teniendo como ejes fundamentales de su acción académica, la excelencia en la docencia, la investigación y la extensión.
La EISC se visualiza como una autoridad académica en su campo a nivel regional, nacional e internacional. Además, EISC tendrá un excelente posicionamiento en la región y en el país por la calidad de sus egresados, de sus investigaciones y por su impacto regional y nacional en la disciplina.
Actualmente la EISC ofrece cuatro programas académicos de alta calidad y proyección, que van desde el nivel tecnológico hasta el nivel doctoral:Tecnología en Sistemas de Información, Ingeniería de Sistemas y Maestría y Doctorado con énfasis en Ingeniería de Sistemas y Computación.
